Ligue 1 21/22, Round 28 – 13/3/22
MARSEILLE – 4 (Gerson 3, Milik 63, Harit 71, Ünder 92)
Pau López, 5
Pol Lirola, 3
William Saliba, 7 – An assured away display from the Arsenal loanee at a tricky ground to visit. Typically serene and commanding, he had no trouble handling Brest’s forward line and he calmed and expertly used the ball and covered for his teammates all game.
Boubacar Kamara, 6
Leonardo Balerdi, 5
Sead Kolašinac, 5
Pape Gueye, 8 – An excellent all-round display. He repeatedly and boldly won the ball back in midfield before using it simply to start attacks while his long passing was also intelligent and progressive too if not always totally accurate but he did well to charge on and join attacks.
Mattéo Guendouzi, 7 – This was a marked improvement on some average recent displays, his passing was more positive and, in the first half especially, he broke forward with typical aggression to the frustration of the opposition. A nuisance all game.
Gerson, 8 – He tucked away the first having broken, as he did all game, incisively from midfield as his increased intensity, sorely lacking during the first half of the season, again gave OM an added verve to match his obvious quality on the ball.
Amine Harit, 7 – His problem all season long has been his similarity to Dimitri Payet, not his lack of quality which he proved here in a slippery and waspish display in supporting Milik. It was his corner that assisted the second and he was on hand to tap home the third. His six shot-creating actions was the game’s most.
Arkadiusz Milik, 7 – His resurgence continues. He did well to slip Gerson in for the opener early on and lead the line with power throughout. A brilliant stooped header from Harit’s corner made it 2-0.
Others: Ünder 6, Bakambu 6, Rongier 5, Ćaleta-Car 4, Peres 5.
