Shock & confusion as PSG announce the dissolution of their reserves team

RMC report that a handful of players at PSG were shocked and confused to hear that the club had decided to dissolve their reserve team set-up, effective immediately.

The team played in the French 4th division and Les Parisiens announced in a press release earlier today that they would no longer exist, in a restructure which ensures that all prospects are either training with the first team or playing for the U19s.

The outlet understands that the decision was taken by PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique following failed conversations with the French Football Federation and the LFP about allowing Les Parisiens’ reserve team set-up to play in Ligue 2, the French second division.

Henrique announced the decision to the players belonging to the reserve team this Friday morning and assured them that he would keep any agreements he had made with individuals about new contracts.

A relief for 25-year-old Abdallah Yaisien, 19-year-old defender Arnaud Nkodi Luzayadio and 22-year-old left-back Isaac Hemans, who had all been in extension negotiations for several weeks.

The PSG board has decided to meet with each player, one by one, to discuss their future, by offering loans to players that the club intends to keep and sales for others. The news did not have a positive impact at all on many of the young players…
