Karim Benzema’s court supervision order lifted

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has seen the court supervision order which previously prevented him from making contact with Mathieu Valbuena lifted today by the courts.

Benzema, who is accused of being complicit in the act of blackmail of French national team colleague Mathieu Valbuena concerning an alleged sextape, had previously been barred from entering into contact with the Lyon attacking midfielder and with any of the other accused individuals in the case.

The state prosecution have announced that they will appeal the suspension of Karim Benzema’s court supervision as they continue their investigation. The appeal will be heard on the 4th March.

From a legal standpoint for now, Karim Benzema and Mathieu Valbuena could represent the French national team together again.
