As reported by L’Équipe, Lyon are planning on keeping hold of Brazilian forward Tetê for next season after some good outings for OL since his late loan move from Shakhtar Donetsk this term, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Despite having failed to make European football for next season, Lyon are looking to sign another winger to bolster their attack and, despite the impending return from injury of teenage prospect Rayan Cherki – who could also soon extend his deal, which ends in 2023, Tetê is a leading option for Peter Bosz.
However, Lyon are not prepared to overpay for the player with Donetsk asking for €25m to sign the 22-year-old forward who managed two goals and five assists in nine Ligue 1 games after nine goals in 17 league games for Donetsek before the Ukrainian league was suspended due to the war. Overall, his 39 games in all competitions brought 12 goals and seven assists.
That price could see OL turn to other options, which will likely have to be financed by other sales after the return of Alexandre Lacazette earlier this week.
