Foot01 are reporting that Lyon’s attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki (18) is yet to respond to the club’s latest contract renewal offer, with his current deal set to run out next summer.
Whilst the club are willing to part with Houssem Aouar (23) and Moussa Dembele (25), who could draw a hefty sum from some Premier League admirers, they do not wish to lose Cherki.
The attacking midfielder has been absent from the first-team picture since sustaining a foot injury back in February. However, the club considers him to be an “important element for the future of the club and for the new project based upon Lyonnais DNA.”
Discussions around a new deal began following the injury sustained in February, but Lyon have yet to hear back from Cherki and his representatives. Foot01 state that his silence could be a sign that he doubts his future at a club where he thus far struggled for game time.
OGC Nice have previously been linked with a move for the France U21 international.
